Providence Bible Fellowship Distinctives

Sometimes it can be difficult to see what a church believes simply from a brief visit to their website.  In an effort to help you to that end, we've compiled a short summary of our doctrinal distinctives to help you see what we believe at a glance.  For a more in depth explanation of our beliefs you'll find our complete doctrinal statement just around the corner in the "Resources" section under the heading "Doctrinal Statement."
  
Doctrines of Grace- We hold to all five points upheld by the Synod of Dordt. 

  
Expository Preaching/Teaching- Jesus communicates with His sheep as they understand and apply His Word. Expository preaching seeks to communicate the sense of God's Word the way He has chosen to reveal it.    

Elder Leadership- The church of Jesus Christ is to be shepherded by men who have been called by Him and meet the Biblical qualifications for leadership.    

 
Believer's Baptism- As an act of obedience, Christian baptism by immersion is the solemn and beautiful testimony of a believer showing forth his faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and his union with Him in death to sin and resurrection to a new life. 

Exalted View of God- We exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Salvation, worship, life, indeed everything is to be to that end.

Exalted View of Scripture- The Bible is the only God-breathed revelation given to mankind. It is sufficient for all things that pertain to life and godliness, as well as equipping the saints for the work of ministry. It is central in our worship of God.  

Family Worship- We believe that children who are old enough to sit still should worship with their parents on Sunday mornings. Even from a young age children need to see their parents sing, and pray to God, and listen intently to His Word being proclaimed together.     

Non-Covenantal-We maintain the Biblical distinction between the Church and Israel.
