We were all new once and we remember what it was like. We have provided the information below to let you know what to expect when first visiting Providence Bible Fellowship.
Our purpose:
Providence Bible Fellowship exists to worship and glorify God. We do this by equipping the saints for ministry through the careful exposition of Scripture. Our goal is to cultivate the desire of the saints to think, discern, and act biblically in all areas of living. Our history dates back to 2005, when a small group of people, including Pastor Mike Nevarr, founded Providence Bible Fellowship in Reston Virginia. We are a nondenominational, evangelical, doctrines of grace, Christian church that is Elder led.
Our Congregation:
Our membership spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The pastor and elders dress conservatively, but you'll see people in the congregation dressed in all styles—from jeans to business suits. Our worship style includes classic and contemporary hymns and doctrinally rich praise songs.
Our Worship Service:
Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:00 am and concludes at approximately 11:30am. The service is followed by a time of refreshment and fellowship. Most people would characterize our service as being traditional.
Each service follows this basic order:
- Welcome
- Announcements
- Opening Prayer
- Praise through hymns and songs
- Scripture Reading
- Pastor’s sermon
- Final worship song
- Time of fellowship and refreshment following the service
Children:
Children are welcome to sit through the service or we are happy to provide the following children’s ministries:
Nursery for babies and toddlers up to age 4. Nursery is open 15 minutes before service begins, pagers are given to parents for contact during the service.
Children’s Sunday School for children ages 4 to 8. Children are dismissed for Sunday School when singing has concluded and before the Pastor's sermon. Following the service during the fellowship time, light snacks are provided for the children.
Additional Adult Ministries:
- Weekly Bible Study/Shepherd Group—Meets on Wednesdays each week. See website calendar for location and time.
- Women's Bible Study—Meets twice monthly. See website calendar for location and times.
- Men’s Log College—Meets monthly, please see the website calendar for locations and times.
Finally, we encourage all visitors to fill out a visitor information card found in the bulletin and drop it in the offering box at the back of the meeting room. Please email or call with any questions you might have and we look forward to seeing you.
